DESCRIPTION

With crystal white flesh and bright, red skins, Organic Heirloom Cherry Belle Radishes are easy to grow and have a mildly zesty flavor. They’re delicious raw or roasted, shaved or whole, in salads or soups. Premium, non-GMO, open pollinated, heirloom Cherry Belle Radish Seeds from The Old Farmer's Almanac have high germination rates and are proudly sourced from American farms.

Freshly Packed: These seeds are packed for the current growing season and will provide high germination rates next year as well.

Premium Packaging: All seeds from The Old Farmer’s Almanac are packaged in individually styled packets ideal for gifts, storage or immediate use. Each packet displays the flower, vegetable, plant or herb variety on the front with instructions and plant facts on the back.

Radishes can tolerate frost, so sow directly outdoors 4-6 weeks before the last spring frost date; or in late summer for a fall harvest. Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in a sunny spot, without shade, in rich, well tilled soil. If soil is clay-like mix in some sand and fertilizer. Distribute seeds evenly about 1 inch apart in rows 6-12 inches apart. Thin radishes 1 every 2-3 inches when plants are a week old. Consistent, even moisture is key with radishes. Keep the soil moist with frequent, shallow waterings.

Radishes are Fast Growers: When you think they're ready to harvest, pull one out to test it. The bulbs should be about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter.

Harvest All Season Long: Plant new seed rows every 10 days or so -- while the weather is still cool -- for a continuous harvest during the growing season.

Wit & Wisdom: Practice three-year crop rotation. In other words, only plant radishes in the same spot every third year. Read The Old Farmer's Almanac Radish Growing Guide!
