Feeds Up to 8 Weeks: For vigorous turf growth we recommend applying The Old Farmer's Almanac Lawn Food every 8 weeks during the growing season; making sure to provide an application in the early spring to help spring growth and in the fall to prepare your lawn for winter.
Nutrient Rich 10-0-2 Formula: The Old Farmer's Almanac Lawn Food is certified to contain 10% Nitrogen for turf growth and color; 0% Phosphates to ensure compliance with local and regional environmental regulations; and 2% Potassium for strong roots.
No Re-Entry Restrictions: This product is designed to be good for plants and convenient too. Unlike manure based products or products with harsh chemicals or smelly bio-solids, lawns fertilized with The Old Farmer's Almanac Lawn Food are safe to walk or play on immediately after application.
Choose the Right Day: For best results apply this product on a calm day when no heavy rains are expected; and daytime temperatures have risen above 45° F on a consistent basis.
Set Your Spreader: Set your drop or rotary spreader to deliver fertilizer at a rate of 4-8 lbs. per 1,000 sq. ft. of lawn. Individual spreader settings will vary; but common settings are listed below. (Refer to your spreader’s instructions for additional information.)

Apply Evenly: Working back and forth in steady rows, apply Lawn Food evenly across your entire lawn.
Clean Up for the Environment: Get the most out of your lawn care, and protect the environment, by sweeping excess or stray particles – that land in the driveway, sidewalk or street – back onto the lawn.
Water to Activate: Water your lawn lightly after application to activate the fertilizer; and keep application areas moist, but not saturated, with additional watering over the next 3-4 days.

A Well Fed Lawn is a Happy Lawn: Just like you, your lawn needs nutrient rich food to grow and flourish. We recommend feeding with Lawn Food about four times a year -- with the first feed in the early spring and the last in the late fall -- for a lush, healthy lawn.
Water Well & Often: Healthy, well fed, lawns are more efficient at absorbing water and nutrients. Water your lawn every few days to provide approximately 1" of moisture (including rainfall) per week. (A typical sprinkler takes 3-4 hours to provide 1" of water.)
Mow Like a Pro: Never remove more than 1/3 of the blade of grass when mowing. During times of stress (for instance in the hot summer) keep grass longer to protect the plant. Leaving clippings on the lawn allows plant nutrients to recycle back to the soil.
Does This Fertilizer Need to be Watered in After Application? For the best results you should water your lawn or turf lightly after application to activate the fertilizer. If rain is due within 2-3 days of application then the fertilizer can be left on the lawn until the rain activates it.
What is the N-P-K Ratio of This Product? The Old Farmer's Almanac Lawn Food has an NPK of 10-0-2 or 10% Nitrogen (N), 0% Phosphorus (P), and 2% Potassium (K).
Why Aren't There Any Phosphates (Phosphorus) in Your Lawn Food? Many states and local municipalities restrict or prohibit the application of Phosphates on lawns and turf; because of the negative environmental impact of excess phosphorus on local water quality, plant and animal life.
Can I Use a Handheld Spreader with Lawn Food? We recommend using a rolling broadcast or drop spreader with our products because they tend to provide more even and measurable coverage. If you're planning to use a hand held spreader we recommend applying 4-8 pounds of fertilizer per 1000 square feet of lawn turf. (There are approximately 4 cups of fertilizer per pound.)
Can I seed my lawn BEFORE / AFTER / AT THE SAME TIME AS applying The Old Farmer's Almanac Lawn Food? Yes. Natural, plant based The Old Farmer's Almanac Lawn Food can be applied as a starter fertilizer when laying down new seed; or it can be applied before or after seeding. It contains no harsh chemicals and will not harm newly seeded grass.

This fertilizer works GREAT!! Idiot proof organic lawn food, spread on lawn without worrying about burning your grass. I have used for several years now and won't go back to the Scott's or Lesco fertilizer. This product is better for the lawn, environment and way easier to apply.
Noticed quick results after applying on my yard. Helped to green up other usual problematic areas as well.
I had been waiting a long time for this brand they actually sent me a different brand which I didn't mind same product. And I got it at the perfect time. I own my own lawn service and it just so happened that there's a fungus going around all lawns in my Florida area. Because the gentle nature I mixed this 2/3 part 2 1/3 part of fungus Scott's Brands fungus stop and applied it to some of my residential Lawns and it brought it back. I wanted to experience with the power of this which I knew it had and I had received some free sod off of a pallet from a big-box store as I was purchasing some good one. The reason it was free is cuz it was mildewed and mashed and only a few sprigs of grass left. So I watered the soil where was to go I live in a mobile home park so it's not exotic soil I added a hefty portion of this lawn food.then put the sd on top (that was mostly decayed) then put another Hefty portion of this lawn food on top/watered everyday and that is the picture I uploaded of it

This fertilizer is so light and very easy to spread.I just put it our Wednesday so I haven’t seen the results.

Thickened up my lawn
I put down Scott’s weed and feed and it dried up my lawn. I was searching for an organic product that would help green up my lawn and without the risk of hurting it more. I gave this product a try and in 4 days I noticed my lawn starting to green up again.I followed the instructions of keeping the lawn moist for 3-4 days after applying this product and I have seen a noticeable difference. There is no offensive smell to this product. I highly recommend it.
